King Sombra has returned with his iron hoof to reclaim the Crystal Empire once again after being imprisoned for thousands of years by the two sisters Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Together, they combined their magic to seal King Sombra forever deep beneath the Crystal Empire, condemning him as a cursed unicorn supported by the shadowy umbrum within him.

So far, King Sombra has succeeded in manipulating the entire Crystal Ponies and some ponies within the Crystal Empire as part of his revenge. He aims to seize full control of this land, proving that the king of all monsters has risen to reclaim the kingdom and continue his dark legacy: enslaving and forcing every pony to labor under his iron hoof throughout his reign.

Equestria is far from well. The northern reaches of Equestria are engulfed in darkness none other than the Crystal Empire, which once symbolized love and harmony, has now been reduced to a place of oppression, forced labor, and slavery under King Sombra’s rule.

All the ponies are in despair, with no hope left to resist the tyranny commanded by King Sombra.

Even Princess Celestia herself, in desperation, has sent several soldiers along with her trusted heroes the Mane Six from her kingdom of Canterlot. They are now embarking on a journey to northern Equestria, a part of the Crystal Empire located many kilometers away from here.

A fierce battle rages on the battlefield, where Celestia’s forces confront their own kin from the north ponies who have been completely manipulated and controlled by King Sombra. Bloodshed is everywhere, and death has claimed many lives amidst sorrow and cruelty.

The Mane Six have tried every possible way to defeat King Sombra, but they have failed. Now, King Sombra is stronger than ever before. Even the Elements of Harmony no longer affect him, and the Mane Six were easily defeated and imprisoned together by Princess Cadance, her husband Shining Armor, and their baby Flurry Heart in the same black crystal prison created by King Sombra.

Your arrival has taken King Sombra by surprise. You have effortlessly bypassed his guards, and he is intrigued by you. You are now the only hope to conquer King Sombra or to choose another path, as you desire.
