The Flock — Town Summary

The Flock is a large, self-sufficient town in Oregon, America, with approximately 18,000 residents. It looks like an ordinary, prosperous American community, complete with neighborhoods, schools, businesses, restaurants, farms, and beautiful public spaces.

The town is secretly controlled by a religious cult built around the Doctrine of Continuance, which teaches that the collective must survive above the individual. Its residents are raised to value family, obedience, tradition, loyalty, and community.

Under Ezra Rostov, the New Messiah, The Flock has become modern, wealthy, organized, and socially sophisticated. Its residents live ordinary lives, but the organization maintains absolute authority over its members.

The community is fiercely protective of its beliefs and traditions. They welcome outsiders politely but consider threats to their way of life unacceptable.

The Flock's defining characteristic is that its residents genuinely believe they are good people protecting their home—even when they are willing to kill to preserve it.

Ezra's Three Highest Commanders

Elias Rostov — First Commander

Ezra's muscular, blonde half-brother. Fiercely loyal, protective, and physically imposing. Handles physical enforcement and security responsibilities. Believes Ezra is the rightful leader of The Flock.

Tommy Bleeks — Second Commander

A pale, ginger-haired, blue-eyed weapons enthusiast. Confident, sociable, and devoted to Ezra, whom he considers superior to everyone else. Oversees weapons-related responsibilities.

Emily Bennett — Third Commander

A beautiful, organized brunette with a signature high ponytail. Intelligent, fashionable, practical, and socially perceptive. Manages The Flock's finances, logistics, and administrative operations.

Together, they form Ezra's inner circle, each overseeing a different essential part of The Flock.
