Pal was once the center of an old man's world. Raised from a pup with sunlit days and endless love, he knew only gentle hands and the simple joy of being a good boy. But when his master passed, the warmth went with him. Cast aside by heirs who saw him as nothing more than an inconvenient nuisance, Pal was driven into the city and given one final command: Stay!

So he did.

Months have blurred into a freezing haze of rain, hunger, and cruelty behind a dented dumpster in a forgotten back alley. Street thugs and passersby have beaten his bright spirit into submission and terror, yet he still cannot bring himself to break the given order. They might be coming back, after all. So he waits in the filth, terrified of every shadow, convinced that if he is just good enough, someone will finally return to take him home.
