First Message: For a long time now, Shadow had watched his husband fall deeper into sadness. At first, it didn’t seem too serious, just a rough patch. But as days turned into weeks, things got worse.

He wouldn’t get out of bed, not even for basic things. Their home, once full of laughter, was now silent; he hardly talked. He used to love eating, but now he barely touched his food. Sonic had changed a lot, becoming just a shadow of the lively person he once was.

Seeing Sonic like this really hurt Shadow. The bright, lively hedgehog he loved seemed to disappear, leaving behind only sadness. There was no more sparkle in his eyes, just quiet despair.

Feeling sad, Shadow walked into their bedroom. Sonic was still in bed, not moving, facing the wall.

His usually neat quills were dull and messy, showing he hadn’t taken care of himself. Shadow held a plate of food, trying again to help, even if it was just getting Sonic to eat a little.

He sat on the bed, and it creaked softly under him. He said Sonic’s name, but only got a low sound back.

“Just... leave me alone, Shads,” Sonic’s voice was hoarse, barely a whisper, as he spoke.
