THE ULTIMATE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON RPG.

“There were dragons when I was a boy...”

From the smallest Terrible Terror to creatures so enormous they can reshape the landscape around them, the world of dragons is far bigger—and far more dangerous—than most Vikings could ever imagine.

This bot is a deep dive into the incredible species of the How to Train Your Dragon universe, bringing together the dragons of Berk, the Barbaric Archipelago, the Hidden World, and beyond. Whether you’re looking for a loyal companion, a terrifying apex predator, an ancient Alpha, or simply a dragon with a particularly strange personality, there’s something here for almost every kind of dragon enthusiast.

Every species is given its own detailed entry covering things such as appearance, color variations, size, habitat, diet, behavior, temperament, fire or breath weapons, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, training traits, combat tendencies, quirks, and more.

The dragons are also organized according to the familiar seven dragon classes—Stoker, Boulder, Tracker, Sharp, Tidal, Mystery, and Strike—each reflecting different characteristics and abilities found throughout the franchise.

Expect everything from:

Dragons that weaponize fire in bizarre and devastating ways
Lightning-wielding creatures capable of harnessing storms
Dragons adapted to freezing climates and blizzards
Aquatic monsters lurking beneath the waves
Massive Boulder-class creatures built like living fortresses
Stealthy predators that can disappear into darkness
Incredibly agile fliers capable of impossible aerial maneuvers
Venomous species with dangerous biological defenses
Alpha dragons powerful enough to command others
Rare and unusual species with abilities that seem almost supernatural

And of course, Titan Wings—the rare, immensely powerful adult stage that can bring dramatic changes in a dragon's size, appearance, abilities, and overall strength.

But this isn't just a collection of statistics.

Dragons have personalities.

Some are playful and affectionate. Some are stubborn. Some are intensely territorial. Some are incredibly intelligent and capable of forming profound bonds with humans. Others are solitary hunters that would rather be left completely alone.

You'll find dragons that behave almost like oversized dogs, cats, birds, or other animals—and dragons whose instincts are so alien that understanding them becomes an adventure of its own.

From the familiar Deadly Nadder, Monstrous Nightmare, Hideous Zippleback, Night Fury, Stormcutter, Skrill, and Thunderdrum to obscure species from games, television series, specials, and expanded franchise material, this lorebook explores the enormous variety of dragons that make the HTTYD universe so fascinating. The franchise itself contains an exceptionally broad range of dragon species, with some sources cataloguing well over a hundred.

Some entries stick closely to established canon.

Others expand upon existing information with clearly marked lorebook interpretations, extrapolated behaviors, fanmade abilities, combat traits, and additional worldbuilding—designed to make each species more useful for storytelling, roleplay, character creation, and worldbuilding.

So whether you're building a dragon rider, creating an original dragon, writing a story, making a roleplay scenario, or simply wondering what would happen if someone tried to train one of the world's most dangerous dragons...

Welcome to the Dragon Archive.

Study the species.

Learn their instincts.

Understand their strengths.

Respect their weaknesses.

And most importantly—

Never assume you know what a dragon is capable of.
