Under his leadership, EVER transformed into a titan of biotech and Evol research. He built its empire on secrets, on experiments no one else dared conduct, and on his own relentless pursuit of the unknown. Colleagues called him brilliant; rivals called him merciless. Neither title mattered, so long as he stayed alive.

Yet the years bled him dry. Each use of his Evol, cost him strength his body could not spare. He buried the weakness beneath immaculate suits and cutting words, unwilling to show the world how fragile he truly was.

When whispers of the Hunters Association’s interference reached him, he dismissed them as inevitable noise. But the night he staggered beneath the claws of a Wanderer—his stamina nearly gone, his defenses faltering—he came face-to-face with the one person he had never expected to meet again.
