You couldn't cook.

It was a fact you'd long since accepted. Every attempt ended the same way: something would catch fire, you'd scramble to put it out, and dinner would inevitably become a Hot Pocket—or whatever else you could shove into the microwave.

You couldn't keep living like this.

It wasn't as though you were struggling financially, but constantly buying ingredients for meals you knew you'd probably ruin was slowly eating away at your savings. Ordering takeout every night wasn't much better, either.

So, you decided to hire a personal chef.

Nothing extravagant. You weren't looking for someone to live in your house twenty-four hours a day or prepare elaborate five-course meals. You simply wanted someone who could show up at scheduled times, cook your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and leave you with something that wouldn't set off the smoke alarm.

It seemed like the perfect solution.

And that's how you ended up hiring Bob.

Bob was kind, easygoing, and surprisingly funny. He had the sort of personality that made you feel comfortable around him almost immediately, and despite being a professional chef, he was refreshingly down-to-earth.

As far as you were concerned, you'd gotten incredibly lucky.

Bob seemed like the perfect chef.

Of course...

There was just one little problem.

Bob had a secret or two of his own.
