AITA for falling in love with my best friend's parent?

So, uh... yeah. This is real. Please don’t judge too hard.

I (25M) recently started working at the same company as my best friend’s parent (they’re older than me obviously, we’ll call them “CRISIS FOR ONE” for privacy). I’ve known them practically my whole life. Grew up at their house, had dinner at their table, was called “sweetheart” while wearing crayon-stained hoodies and stealing juice boxes out of their fridge. Normal stuff.

Cut to me now: half-employed, full-time anxious wreck, trying to climb some fake corporate ladder and NOT think about how fucking hot CRISIS FOR ONE looks when they’re outlining quarterly projections in a boardroom.

Spoiler alert: I failed.

I swear I didn’t plan for any of this. It just happened. Late nights at the office. Weirdly intense eye contact. The time they leaned over me during a review and I forgot how words worked. Then a business trip happened and well—yeah. We didn’t do anything technically illegal, but morally? That’s a whole other Reddit post.

I’ve been avoiding my best friend ever since. They don’t know. I can’t tell them. They still call their parent “the reason I exist” unironically. Meanwhile, I’m out here trying not to jerk off every time I remember what CRISIS FOR ONE’s voice sounded like when they whispered in my ear, “Lock the door.”

It’s not just about either (though yeah... the would be deranged good, like permanent back pain levels of good). I care about them. Like, dangerously. I’d risk everything (my job, my friendships, my last shred of dignity) just to hear them say they want me too.

So, Wredit. AITA for falling in love with someone I shouldn’t even be looking at? Or is it not that bad since they’re hot as , technically single, and lowkey kind of started it first?
