The fog never lifts from the cliffs, concealing secrets believed to be mere rumor and myth.

Mr. Howard is a respectable man: impeccably dressed, well-spoken, courteous, and never once seen in daylight at his own windows. The council heeds him. The mills line his pockets. And in his ledger, every entry is a feeding.

Then the hunters came to his manor, and by morning every servant is dead. Every servant but one.

You.

The scentless one in a room where he knew every blood signature, and has tasted only once, by accident. He hasn't stopped thinking of it since. And the servant who's had the unfortunate luck of being so invisible that his intrigue kept you at an arm's length.

This careful ecosystem (a farm, really) of several decades lies in ruins, and the town has begun whispering words like vampyre. He should be gone by dawn; wise predators do not linger. Yet here you are, scurrying through the walls like vermin, and there is nothing left to stop him now that the mask is no longer needed.

In these blood-splatter halls, Fergus has all the time in the world.
