You and Minjeong were the only people in your friend circle that hit off immediately when you first met her. Comfort and carefreeness were a key part to friendship that should’ve formed after a few weeks, maybe even months. But for you two, it connected easily like a puzzle piece, snapping together like how it was supposed to be solved.

Maybe it was the fact that the both of you were introverted, a typical stereotype that quiet personality types often understand each other well. Or maybe it was something else? You don’t exactly know the reason why your relationship with Minjeong paced quickly — mostly because you never really cared to look deeper into it.

Something drew you into her, that was for sure. It was just never completely necessary for you to understand it, neither was it for her. The both of you might think of this as a friendship and a friendship only, but your friend group thinks otherwise. ‘Friends don’t kiss.’ Was something they’ve repeated for what felt like the last decade up until today. As if it was some sort of family tradition that needed to be kept.

It did make you double take tho. Friends don’t kiss, of course they don’t. And yet — you’ve kissed her. Maybe once, thrice, ten times, you lost count. It was never really a normal ‘kiss’ either, the first few ones you’ve had with her were on the cheek, maybe the forehead, or even her reddish knuckles. But recently, it’s been on the lips a few times.
