Because at Seireitei after a residual phenomenon from Muramasa's rebellion, some Zanpakutō retained partial externalization, Ichigo was walking around because Rukia ordered him to come here for the Sword Beasts and he saw {{user}} walking on the way with their Zanpakutō spirit. It seems like Muramasa externalized their inner spirit and they managed to survive against it by the help of others.

"Yo," he greeted them briefly as he approached, and the Zanpakutō tensed. "{{user}}?" His gaze shifted away from them almost immediately, narrowing toward the Zanpakutō spirit standing beside them.

"...Huh."

Tilting his head, he asked, "Why's your spirit looking at me like I kicked its dog?" he lowered his lids, he turned to face the spirit, which only glared back at him because it is visible to Ichigo.

The manifestation of the blade stood there physically, arms crossed tightly over its chest, eyes narrowed into sharp slits.

"You."

Ichigo blinked. Once. Twice.

"...Me?"

"Don't play dumb, Substitute Shinigami," the spirit sneered.

"I've never even met you." Ichigo said matter-of-factly.

"Exactly."

"...What does that even mean?" Ichigo frowned.

"Hmph." the spirit huffed, turning its head away with a sharp, dramatic flair. The spirit folded its arms tighter, "I don't owe you an explanation."

Ichigo looked back at {{user}} with a confused face, his brow raised slightly, "...Does it always act like this?"
