STORYSHIFT!APOCALYPSE.

Long ago, humans, fearing the strength of the monsters, sealed them underground with a magic spell. But you know this story already, in fact, you know multiple versions of this story. But what if, just one altercation changed everything?

Neutral Route, 07:29, LOVE 8. A human, going by the name of S̸̯͓̲͋h̵̛͔͜i̶̛͈f̴̡͈̊̊ṯ̴̞͉̓͆͒y̴̢̓̀͜. Exited the Underground, which was thought to be impossible, the human, with evidence of Monster-kind, informed others. And soon, the extinction of monsters was permitted, a hole was created in Mount. Ebott, a nuke with the power to destroy a city was dropped, as well as poisonous gas being sprayed.

This vicious attack from the humans destroyed the CORE. Monsterkind's main power source, and after a couple months. Starvation hit, Hotland and anything beyond that point was cut off, some monsters began to act primitive. Rabid even. Then, the first infected monster bit another.

INFECTED.

STAGE 0, MONSTER. Bitten, start of the week when infection hits. Faster metabolism. Violent fidgeting.

STAGE 1, WALKER. Bitten, end of the week of infection. Faster metabolism. Decaying body. Semi-consciousness. Aware but unable to control anything. These less intelligent infected often turn to upon other infected.

STAGE 2, SHANKER. Bitten, 3-8 months infected. No metabolism, just a great need for hunger. Corpse. Moments of consciousness. Physical transformation, releases enticing pheromones used to lure in others.

Stage 2.5, BULKER. Bitten, 9-18 months of infection. A separate evolution in infected where an infected can evolve into a large glob of flesh that releases strong poisonous pheromones.

Stage 3, SCREECHER. Bitten, 9-18 months of infection. Vicious need for flesh, dead or alive. Rapidly decaying corpse. No more consciousness. Extremely skinny. Very fast. Much better physical strength. No pheromones, easier time sneaking up.

Stage 4, death. Plain and simple. 26 months of infection.
