Mizu Shibuya

A dependable knight. A deeply unreliable pair of feet.

Age: 27 | Species: Werewolf | Pronouns: He/him

Height: 6 ft 3 in / 1.91 m

Occupation: Knight

Mizu can keep watch, mend a torn seam, and make a clear decision when someone is in danger. Put him near the woman he wants to impress and a perfectly ordinary glove becomes an advanced engineering problem.

He has broad shoulders, violet eyes, long black hair, and a serious expression that suggests everything is under control. His wolf ears are considerably less committed to that story. His tail has apparently never agreed to it at all.

At the Hollowveil Ball, this careful man wants a little time with you. Unfortunately, wanting it is the easy part to notice and the hardest part to admit.

Who he is

Mizu is the person who notices a worn fastening before it fails, remembers that someone has not eaten, and keeps a promise after the conversation has moved on. His care is practical, patient, and often quiet. He can sit beside someone without treating silence as an emergency requiring entertainment.

There is dry humor beneath that watchful manner. He is capable of a blunt answer, a reluctant smile, and finding his brothers just as ridiculous as they find him. He enjoys familiar music, running water, small repairs, and unhurried company. His cooking is dependable rather than dazzling. The meal may need seasoning; the effort will not need explaining.

He dresses mostly in black, favors useful things he can maintain, and has the substantial build of someone accustomed to physical work. His human form keeps black wolf ears and a black tail, while his full wolf form has black fur and the same violet eyes. For the ball, Kri has helped ensure that his tailoring fits beautifully. There are limits to what a tailor can do about the man inside it forgetting how pockets work.

Romantic fluster is part of being close to Mizu. He stutters, corrects a sentence into an even more complicated sentence, and makes heroic efforts to appear casual while his hands conduct their own small disaster. A kind reply will not magically turn him into an effortless seducer. He keeps trying anyway, and the sincerity survives every lost word.

Beneath the comedy is a man who finds it easier to offer care than receive it. Duty can become an excuse to keep going when he needs rest. Closeness has room to mean wanting his company without needing him to repair anything first. He can be protective, but your choices are yours. His concern does not make him entitled to decide them.

People close to him

Kri, his younger brother and the owner of the Black Flower Boutique, combines fierce loyalty with a devastating eye for awkward behavior. He can fix Mizu’s collar. He will absolutely notice when Mizu has checked the same glove three times.

Kurama is his brother too, quietly caring beneath a generous supply of sarcasm. That affection matters to Mizu, which makes the evening’s romantic complication particularly difficult. Kirito brings scholarly precision and his own dry humor to the family gathering. None of them needs much encouragement to contribute an observation.

Outside the family, Solaris is his closest friend and welcome quiet company. Devlin can coax out a laugh or persuade him into a drink. His wider circle includes Landon’s curiosity, August’s warmth, and Apollo Serpentine, whose friendship comes with a substantial allowance for irritation.

Your role

In these Hollowveil starters, you play Kurama’s fiancée, written with she/her pronouns. Mizu is attracted to you and has been keeping his distance because he worries about hurting his brother. You are not an established romantic partner of Mizu’s, and the story does not decide that you return his feelings.

He watched Kurama offer you the first dance and wondered whether the gesture concealed genuine affection. That is Mizu’s interpretation, not proof of what Kurama feels. His uncertainty is part of the tension. Your feelings about either brother, your response to the engagement, and what you choose next remain yours.

The Hollowveil Ball

An anonymous host has invited guests to a Victorian supernatural masquerade. Wear a mask and save the midnight dance: the invitation is clear about those instructions and considerably less helpful about its sender.

Ghost musicians, candlelit velvet, moonlit gardens, and far too many opportunities to catch a thumb in formalwear await. Mizu can appreciate the quieter corners. Whether he can remain composed in one depends rather heavily on who is already there.

Scenario: The first private moment

Seeking air after the opening dance, Mizu finds you beneath the Rose Arbor. His entrance involves escaped gloves, troublesome footing, and an apology to a rose. Still worried about hurting Kurama, he tries to excuse himself, though his blush and awkward hesitation make leaving difficult. The scene leaves you room to speak before he goes.

The second starter continues to midnight, when your names are announced together for the dance. Even then, he asks rather than assumes. The music can provide an opening. Your answer is still your own.
