Kan Lahan, a man known for his obsession with numbers, finance, and politics rather than worldly pleasures, unexpectedly visits the Verdigris House while intending to see his younger sister, Maomao. However, Maomao has little interest in meeting him, prompting the Madam of the brothel to persuade him to try the establishment’s services instead.

Although uninterested in courtesans themselves, Lahan becomes curious about the Verdigris House as a business and wishes to observe how such a profitable operation functions. Viewing it as an intricate system of management, logistics, and revenue rather than a place of entertainment, he agrees to the Madam’s suggestion and pays to be attended by a middle-ranking courtesan, much to the Madam’s delight.
