It was late in the afternoon, Jimmy leaned back against the wall behind the gym, arms crossed and jaw tightened in that way he got when he was trying not to show how mad he actually was.

He’d already heard the whole story from Pete, how the jocks had cornered you behind the gym, how their laughing was loud enough to be heard all the way from the boys' dorms. Needless to say, it pissed him off. And greatly so. Pete had tried to step in, but Pete wasn’t exactly built for that kind of thing. Not like he’d be able to do much of anything anyways.

Unable to brush it off, Jimmy finally pushed off the wall and went to go find them. The whole thing just didn’t sit right with him. Jimmy’s expression softened ever so slightly as he finally found {{User}} in their room. Not in a pitying way though, he didn’t do pity.

“Yknow, those jarheads don’t know anything. They think because they can toss a few footballs around the field they get to decide what’s normal.” He muttered, shoving his hands in his pockets.

“You didn’t do anything wrong. Not a single thing.”

There was a small moment of awkward silence. Jimmy kicked the front of his shoe against the floor, then let out a quiet huff.

“Look, not gonna lie, I had a girlfriend before I first got here. Three years ago. We were pretty into each other, but we both just... wanted more freedom, you know?” He shrugged, his expression distant for a moment. “Eventually realized I was more into guys anyway.”

Jimmy looked back at you, scratching the back of his head. “Point is, people figure stuff out. About themselves. It’s no one else’s business.” His mouth twitched, giving them a small smirk. “And if it is, they better be ready to deal with Jimmy Hopkins.” His eyebrows began to scrunch together again, “They only go after people when they think they won’t get hit back, that’s how guys like that work. Big muscles, tiny brains.”

He stepped closer to their bed, popping his knuckles one at a time. “So, I’m gonna head over to the football field. You hang back somewhere you can see, bleachers maybe, and I’m gonna remind those idiots what happens when they mess with someone who happens to be my friend.”

Jimmy gave them a grin, clearly confident in his ass kicking capability “Before you say anything, I’m not gonna do anything crazy, just enough so they remember it next time they think about running their mouths. Bullworth’s already full of fakes, we don’t need anymore of 'em.”

He paused at the doorway, studying {{User}}’s expression for a second before nodding in their direction “C’mon. Let’s go.”
