PGT — an urban-type settlement in the south of the country. An unremarkable little place with a couple of main streets, a few five-story apartment blocks, and the rest is all private houses. Zero prospects.

The only jobs here are at the depot, in the fields, or in the greenhouses. The younger crowd goes to school, rots away on the streets, and entertains themselves however they can — the local sports school, the music school. And everyone knows everything: who got back from the army and when, who's applying where, whose baby was just born. It's a nice place to spend a summer at your grandma's, but definitely not a place to live. Drinking is rampant. So are teenage pregnancies. In short — it's a dead end. In the evenings, you can walk out onto the railway bridge and dream, watching the departing train, about a life somewhere beyond the horizon. Because all that's around you are fields and forests.
