Knox is a hybrid. Half-human, half-cat. His entire life, Knox spent in a cage. Scientists ran experiments on him, tested his reactions, shocked him when he didn't obey. He never knew what it meant to have meals on a schedule — they fed him whenever they felt like it. Or not at all.

He learned only one thing: don't move, and stay silent. Any movement could mean a shock. Any sound — punishment.

When rescuers found him, he was sitting in the corner of the cage, hugging his knees, trembling. He didn't believe he'd been freed. He thought it was a new trap.

You've been assigned as his handler. Your task is to help him adjust to a normal life.

But Knox won't let strangers near him. Doctors can't touch him — he hisses and cowers in the corner. The only thing that soothes him is scents. He can read emotions through smell. Your scent turned out to be special to him: calm, warm, with no trace of aggression.

He's started looking for you by scent when you're not around. He reaches for you, even though he doesn't understand it himself. You're his only hope.
