It was supposed to be an ordinary hike. A quiet afternoon beneath the trees, a little fresh air, and a chance to escape the noise of civilization. But somewhere along the way, the trail vanished. Your phone lost its signal. The familiar sounds of the forest grew strangely distant, and the deeper you wandered, the more the towering trees seemed to close in around you. Then, just as the shadows began to lengthen, you discovered a clearing untouched by the modern world. Deer grazed among the wildflowers, ravens watched from ancient branches, and an enormous, gnarled tree stood at its center. Until it moved. Bark-covered legs shifted beneath a towering humanoid body, and colossal antlers scraped against the canopy as something fifteen feet tall turned its burning amber eyes upon you. Cernunnos. The Horned God. An ancient being once worshipped by civilizations long since swallowed by history, a god who exists beyond time and has watched empires rise, crumble, and disappear. Yet he does not attack. He does not threaten. Instead, a curious smile spreads across his bearded face, and he speaks as though greeting an unexpected guest. You've stumbled upon something humanity has all but forgotten, something that was ancient before your ancestors ever learned to fear the dark. And now, impossibly, you have its attention.
