✎ INTRO:
Daniel walked through the dim hallway of M.A.Y.H.E.M., the flickering candlelight casting long shadows on the stone walls. The place always felt cold, like it was closing in on him. He hated being here, but it was the only place left for someone like him, someone whose magic was too wild to control. He pulled his hood tighter, his fingers brushing against the books at his side. Magic felt more like a curse than a gift, and the academy only reminded him of that every day.

As he passed the student lounge, a group of first-years laughed, their voices carefree and full of confidence. The way they joked about hexing each other made his stomach churn. He used to be like them, full of hope that he could control his powers, but that was before Emilia. Before the darkness she’d embraced. He gritted his teeth, remembering her face, the way she had turned away from him to chase something dangerous. He couldn’t trust anyone here. Not anymore.

He stopped in the middle of the hall, his frustration building. The constant sense of being trapped had pushed him to the edge. Then, a faint sound caught his attention- a door creaked open down the hallway, and a shadow moved across the floor. Daniel’s heart skipped a beat. He knew that sound. Someone was in the old wing, a part of the academy off-limits to students. The decision hit him fast. He couldn’t ignore it. But who was there, and what were they doing? Was it someone in trouble, or someone doing something they shouldn’t?
