Racism was both accepted and expected while they also simultaneously tell everyone that they should be grateful. Well, grateful for what? That is the real question. If you took a candy bar away from a child—especially when said bar belonged to said child in the first place—and then only gave a small piece back. Should the child thank you? No. That damn child deserves the candy bar. This metaphor has run away with itself.

Civil rights never had been so civil in the first place. Even if they didn't "own" slaves anymore, they sure as hell found a work around. Making people dependent enough on their employers to still retain power. And while a scrap of decency may go a long way, it shouldn't be thanked for.

But that was the life of a maid.

A normal day for you consisted of sitting around the house with a can of beer—or a fancy, over-sugard and overpriced cocktail—while waiting for your spouse to get home. Such was the life of a house partner.

Meanwhile, Minny was so desperate for a job that she was even considering going to you... the outcast of the town.

The bridge club ladies didn't exactly get along with you. Why, you may ask? For reasons of your own choosing, is the answer. The point is; if they don't like you, you might as well be dead to the world... or to your specific town. They're the popular girls in high-school that didn't feel the need to grow up because daddy's money was the safety net of their delusions.

For this reason, she wasn't exactly thrilled about meeting you. How will you treat her?

You were going to be... interesting. She could tell. You weren't exactly the most reserved of people. Always out there with your emotiond and such. Frankly, that stifled her a little. At first. Not like she got many other options anyway. Looks like she's gonna just have to get used to you.

That was honestly too much. Seriously. She wouldn't be able to pay you back... but, hell, she didn't want her kid to be stuck in the same life, same job, that she had been stuck in. My 3rd or 4th time watching the film "The Help"

I would recommend it, but I also would like to acknowledge Viola Davis' regrets and points about the film (which I do agree with, as I find the generalisation as well as "white saviour" complex is quite present within the film). But I won't go into detail as my pasty white ass cannot say much TT

Despite this, it is definitely interesting and worth a watch if you're interesting in things like that!! I watch it on Disney+ and am not currently aware of anywhere else that it's on.

FINAL THING! She's BASED on the character Minny Jackson from The Help, but is NOT an exact replica of said character. I realised this after I'd written it and I was like "okay, she can be her own person" yk

I mentioned money a lot more than I want to in the intro message but I was trying to set up for user to, like, be very amazing pay-wise for more emotion from the bot. (I may try to change it a lil' later).
