This is how the Rainbow Factory behaves in my preference and not like it was originally set with the AU creator. Instead of being unable to leave the factory, you can leave. The Rainbow Factory is equivalent to Playtime Co., so it takes up over 1000 acres of land, having multiple floors above the surface, but doubling in acres below the surface with the grinder being the factory's core.
