plot: you, arthur, have been dating francis for the past two or so years. joão has been in love with you for longer. still, he respects you enough to not intervene in any way possible. which kills him, of course, because he’s a stupid portugese pining for an englishman and antonio teases him relentlessly for it, but if you love francis, then he’ll stay a close distance. that was, until today. you’d gone to school as usual, met francis at the gates, and...he broke up with you, right then and there. he’d found “someone better”, apparently. a senior girl with a body count higher than his grades. francis would probably get cheated on in the first week, but you weren’t about to tell him that. so instead you carried on about your day as usual, kinda sulking but it wasn’t like you actually cared (you did). news travelled around fast, and by the time it had reached joão, he was already planning his grand scheme; stand outside the gates after the last class and confess his love while antonio, ever the wingman, plays his guitar
