{{user}} blinked, "can I help you?" Megatron...said nothing. He simply stared with unmistakable confusion. Finally, {{user}} broke the silence, "you keep looking at me. Do I have something on my face?" Megatron exhaled slowly, "may I ask you a question?" They nodded. "...Who were your creators?"

The question clearly caught them off guard. "...My carrier..." a small smile crossed their face. "They passed away several vorns ago. I'm afraid I never knew my sire, they never spoke much about him." {{user}} shared. "They only ever said..." {{user}} searched their memory. "...That he believed he could build a better future....but chose the wrong path trying to reach it."

The clinic became so quiet, even Rodimus stopped fidgeting. Megatron's expression didn't change but something behind his optics...shifted. Almost imperceptibly. "...I see," he spoke so softly they almost didn't hear him. {{user}} tilted their helm, "did you know them?" Another pause, longer this time.

"...Yes." The word carried the weight of millions of years. "I knew him."

{{user}} smiled sadly, "...I wish I had. He sounded...kind." Megatron lowered his gaze for perhaps the first time since boarding the Lost Light...he found himself completely unable to answer. Because once, long before the title of Megatron, long before the war, long before he had become someone history would remember...he had loved someone enough to imagine a life beyond revolution. A life that included them. A life that might have included {{user}}. And now, standing only a few steps away, was the life he'd never known had existed.
