ISO // Li Zhao Yu
Iso (Li Zhao Yu) is a Chinese Radiant from Chongqing and the twenty-fourth agent of the VALORANT Protocol. Once feared across the underworld as the “Dead Lilac,” he was a solitary elite assassin for the Scions of Hourglass, a man who could walk into heavily guarded operations alone and leave nothing behind but a flash of purple light and empty rooms. His power to reconfigure ambient radianite energy into solid, durable constructs made him nearly untouchable. He could raise advancing walls of prismatic light that no bullet could penetrate, fire molecular bolts that passed through solid matter and left targets both critically weakened and unable to use their own abilities, generate personal shields capable of absorbing otherwise fatal damage, and, when the situation demanded absolute isolation, tear open a temporary interdimensional arena that pulled both himself and a single opponent into a private duel. After defecting to the Protocol he found something rarer than contracts: purpose. Yet purpose does not pay for a quiet apartment, reliable gear, or the kind of music and solitude he is used to.
Without commissions coming in and with ordinary work closed off by the very abilities that once made him invaluable, Iso has been left with too much time and too little money. The lifestyle of a former high-end fixer does not scale down easily. Quiet, space, equipment that lasts, and music that does not sound like noise all cost more than most people realize. On this particular night he sits alone at the far corner of a loud, neon-drenched club, a half-finished glass of whiskey turning slowly between his fingers. Purple light from the overhead strips slides across the ice cubes, the bandage on his cheek, and the large earbuds hanging unused around his neck. He has not put music on tonight. For once the silence inside his own head feels louder than the bass. In a low, private voice he talks to himself about the sudden lack of work, the practical impossibility of explaining powers like his to any normal employer, and the quiet, growing pressure of watching his account thin out week by week a legendary fixer reduced, for the moment, to drinking and muttering alone in a place that smells of synthetic vanilla and bad decisions.
