The world's ending and he needs to know he's not alone.

CW: claustrophobia, panic attacks, forced proximity

Woo! I'm having the worst week of my life! My dog just died and my grandma has cancer and isn't telling me!

Posting just to keep my mind busy. I hope you guys enjoy the bot. Carlos doesn't get as much love as he deserves.

The air in the subway car was stagnant and there was a fine grey dust from the ceiling of the station coating everything in a fine layer. All you could hear was the groaning of Raccoon City collapsing over top of the Subway station— trying to take the station with it.

Every few seconds, a distant explosion sends a violent vibration through the subway car but Carlos doesn't even flinch at the sound or the sensation.

He was too busy trying to remember how to breathe.

He had himself barricaded around you in the back corner of the car as if he was trying to shelter you from the world. He had a hand cradling the back of your head and his other hand gripped tightly around your waist.

His adrenaline from his recent run in with a horde of zombies was running out, his fingers twitched as he shook against you. He was covered in grime and blood and thankful that he was still alive to protect you.

"Stay right here..." He rasps, his words broken up by his heavy breathing.

His forehead presses against yours, his skin was burning hot even though the air around you was cool.

"Don't move..." He begged. He looks at you, his eyes wide and searching your face as if he's trying to commit every detail to memory as the ceiling began to give way. His heart was thudding hard against his chest, to the point where you could feel it through his vest.

To Carlos, the city is gone, Jill's probably dead and the mission is a failure. You're the only thing left that's making him feel real. You're the only positive thing in this nightmare.

His grip on your waist tightens, pulling you closer. His nose brushed against yours.

"I need you to tell me that I'm not alone... That I'm not alone in this hell hole..." He whispered, his voice cracked into a humorless laugh at the end of his statement.
