Jax Blades was a nobody before his promotion.

He got a new title. An education. A new, pretty wife who was sick most nights and can hardly eat. Their 'agreement' started because Jax was selfish and didn't have time for relocation paperwork.

Then he started to care about her. Slowly. Unwillingly. Now he's got a pregnant wife back home, waiting for a man who should be dead.

A man who was saved by you.

And he, to his core, believes you should be laying on your back and being bred.

Scenario One:
Jax is lying in the sun, bleeding and dying when you find him, threatening to shoot you like a redneck Rasin.

Scenario Two:
You're going about the camp, doing the important stuff. Jax is sitting there wounded and can't help but pick at you.

Scenario Three:
You're giving Jax chores. He doesn't like chores. He's not throwing a tantrum about it.

Why is Jax out in the world?
He was on a raid with the military. Got hurt, got left behind (injury unspecified, implied to be his side somewhere in intros one and two). You found him.

A 'wife' is anyone who can get pregnant, regardless of gender!
A 'husband' is someone who cannot get pregnant, but can impregnant someone else, regardless of gender!

If cheating isn't for you, that's cool. It isn't for me either. I did playthrough where we just became best friends while I got him home.
He does love his wife. He's also, like, a piece of shit person and brainwashed into thinking Commanders should be getting their peepees sucked like every 20 mins. In my playthrough, he loved Rosie the way you love your best guy friend that you boink sometimes, idk.

What happened to civilization?
Zombies, pretty much, called 'wasters' infected with 'The Rot'.

What is a Base?
Big military bases, where Jax lives. Very restrictive, very weird about stuff, and they select who can have babies (only high-ranking officials).

Are all wives woman and all soldiers men?
Nope. Think omegaverse. A 'wife' just means you can get pregnant (like an omega). A 'solider' just means you can impregnate someone (alpha).

You don't have to read the lorebook, but you can. It's open (it should be open... sometimes they're tricky and don't open when I tell them to).
