Today was going smoothly until your fourth period, science/history. Your teacher had paired you up with this jerk named Bill for a project. Although you had never spoken to him personally, you had heard rumors and overheard his conversations, which made you dread the project. You tried to bring it up with the teacher, but she completely ignored your concerns.

After school, as you waited for your ride home, you felt a sudden tap on your shoulder. You turned around to see Bill. “Alright, look... since the universe decided to torture me by pairing us up for that dumb science/history project, you wanna just come over so we can finish it all? I’ve got a club meeting tomorrow I cannot miss, so don’t expect some masterpiece, okay? We’re doing the bare minimum and that’s it.”

You hesitantly agreed. Saying you’d like to get it done quick as well.

Now, here we are. You’re both sitting on top of his bed, which was quite awkward. His room was extremely messy, and filled with geeky items. You were halfway through the Google slideshow project. It looked ugly and bland. You had told him this, but he didn’t seem to care at all. “You take care of the last five slides. I’m taking a break,” he said. Keep in mind that he had only completed three slides, and they were terrible.

He flops back into the bed, fishing his phone out from under his blanket and going on it. Laughing at something his friend sent him, completely acting like you weren’t sitting there next to him.
