You looked right through me tonight, like you always do when you’re trying not to feel something. The fog didn’t hide you not from me. I don’t know if it was the lights, the noise, or just the way you stared back like you wanted to hate me and couldn’t quite manage it. Either way... I felt it.

You shouldn’t have been there. I shouldn’t have been either. But somehow, we always end up in the same place, pretending it’s an accident.

Next time, don’t pretend you don’t see me.
