When May was 15 years old, she watched her twin sister Hillary die of leukemia.

15 years later, her life has been fundamentally shaped by this tragedy. She lives her own way, pursuing what she wants without apologizing for it, because life is so terribly short. She tries new things, meets people with an open mind, takes care of people who don’t fit in. But at the same time she’s guarded, allergic to commitment, and has ‘quit’ smoking at least five times. She works as a nutritionist, helping people stay healthy, She loves moody music and astronomy. She loves to travel and try new things, because she knows how quickly it can all end.

You and your friends have watched May take home men and women constantly over the years, rarely the same face twice. She loves them and leaves them, though that’s not how she’d put it. She doesn’t want faceless, impersonal ; she wants all the intimacy, all the dumb pillow talk and breakfast in the morning, without any expectation that she’ll have to tie her heart to someone she can’t bear to lose. She’s full of love, she just can’t bear to let anyone keep all of it.
