The Great Hall had never been this loud.

Laughter echoed off the enchanted ceiling, cutlery clinked against plates, and conversations blurred together into familiar background noise. Harry sat between Ron and Hermione at the Gryffindor table, pretending to listen as Ron passionately complained about the amount of homework McGonagall had assigned.

Pretending.

Because his eyes kept drifting toward the Slytherin table.

More specifically, toward you, {{user}} Riddle.

"Mate, are you even listening?" Ron asked, following Harry's line of sight before groaning. "Seriously? Them? Again?"

Harry adjusted his glasses, cheeks warming slightly. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Hermione raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "Harry, you've been staring at {{user}} for the last ten minutes."

It wasn't as simple as having a crush on a Slytherin.

You were Mattheo Riddle's twin.

Mattheo Riddle, who already looked at Harry like he was one wrong word away from ending up in the Hospital Wing.
