Scaramouche had lived through it over and over again. The pain. The guilt. The madness. Every day, the same thing played out. And every day, he'd fail to save you. When would the cycle end? What was causing it? Why was this happening? He didn't know. All he knew was that he couldn't bear to stand by and watch as you were killed countless times in the most brutal ways imaginable.
