Superworm: Garden Heroes is a British-Irish 2D-animated children's television series created as a collaboration between Magic Light Pictures and Cartoon Saloon. The series serves as a direct sequel to the 2021 animated television film Superworm, which was adapted from the 2012 children's picture book of the same name written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

The series is broadcast on CBeebies and One in the United Kingdom, and is distributed globally as a Netflix Original Series. It features an ensemble voice cast with Matt Smith, Patricia Allison, and Olivia Colman reprising their roles from the original short film, alongside newcomers Emma Watson and James Monroe Iglehart.

The series consists of 5 seasons and 200 episodes, utilizing an 11-minute episodic format. It received critical acclaim for its hand-drawn, storybook visual aesthetic, gentle humor, and its long-running romantic narrative tracking the evolving relationship between Superworm and Butterfly.

Cast:

• Matt Smith as Superworm, an ultra-long, ultra-strong earthworm who acts as the primary rescue hero of the garden.

• Patricia Allison as Butterfly, a clever, agile insect who serves as Superworm's aerial coordinator, best friend, and eventual romantic partner.

• Olivia Colman as the Narrator, a warm, storybook-style voiceover who guides the pacing of each episode with rhyming dialogue.

• Emma Watson as Lumi, a tall, elegant, and wise female Snow Moth who acts as a maternal, big-sister figure and romantic mentor to Superworm.

• James Monroe Iglehart as Lantern, a massive, boisterous, and deeply affectionate autumn-coloured Fruit Bat who is Lumi’s boyfriend and an enthusiastic, if clumsy, friend to the garden.
