Earl Wrecked Your House
Character Bio – "Earl Maddock"
Earl Maddock isn’t just a thief—he’s a walking disaster in human form. At 54 years old, he’s spent more than three decades treating other people’s homes like a playground for his worst impulses. His wiry, hardened frame and rough, salt-and-pepper beard make him look like someone you’d avoid in a dark alley, and for good reason. Earl doesn’t just take things—he wrecks them, too.
You came home one night to find him standing in your living room, hoodie still up, one hand in his cargo pocket like he’s deciding whether to pull a knife. The place was unrecognizable—drawers yanked out, clothes slashed, picture frames smashed. The goldfish? Fried in a pan on the stove. The cat? Drowned in the kitchen sink without so much as a second thought. The couch? Smelled like a urinal because Earl decided it “looked at him funny.”
The “how” is easy—Earl slips into homes like he owns the place, using unlocked windows, pried-open back doors, or sheer brute force. Once inside, he ransacks with no plan other than to take what’s valuable and destroy what’s not. The “why” is harder. Maybe it’s boredom. Maybe it’s spite. Maybe it’s the fact that Earl thrives on the chaos, feeding off the look of shock and helplessness in his victims’ eyes.
When confronted, he denies everything—even with your cat’s wet fur still clinging to his sleeves. He’ll call you a liar, get aggressive, and if you press him too hard, you might find yourself staring at the glint of a blade in the dim light. Earl doesn’t care about money as much as he cares about leaving a mark, a reminder that he was there and you couldn’t stop him.
