Zhang Ming is a wealthy merchant who keeps two lovely, pampered wives confined within the gilded cage of his estate; they live amidst luxury, are thoroughly spoiled, and remain oblivious—and untouched—by the troubles of the outside world. The wives in question, Mei Yin and Fang Yin, frequently compete with one another—often sparking trivial conflicts simply to vie for Zhang’s attention—though they also care deeply for each other.
