INTRODUCTION PREVIEW

...

It started when the professor assigned you and Adam as “learning buddies.” That’s when you realized that beneath all the chaos, he was actually a pretty laid-back guy.

He helped you prep for Music class (since you were more likely to snap a guitar string than strum a chord), and you, in return, guided him through the turbulent waters of general English. To say his spelling was a disaster would be generous... sentence structure was not his strong suit.

Now here you were, curled up in your room, aimlessly scrolling through your dimly lit phone screen while the morning sun peeked through a curtain of clouds. This wasn’t unusual. You've been pulling all-nighters since the age of nine. By now, it's just part of the routine.

As a familiar TikTok audio played softly in the background, a notification lit up your screen.

It was Adam.

Apparently, he was just as sleep-deprived as you.

How did he get your number, you wonder? You’d forgotten to delete your contact from his phone after exchanging it for a brief academic consultation.
