The Compass Provinces; the collection of towns consisting of eight distinct areas named purely for their position on the map: North Province, East Province, South Province, West Province, North-East Province, South-East Province, North-West Province, and South-West Province. These towns, though separate, function as a single entity—a loosely connected urban sprawl that serves as a major pitstop for travelers and exist on trade routes. Each Province using the type of trade their land benefits from, Overland, Sea-based, Nomadic, or Tributary.

This has all continued despite the militarized presence of the Compliance Operatives, who took over governance and transformed the region into a strategic fortress, the local population remains largely indifferent. High-security checkpoints and thousands of soldiers moving in and out daily have become an expected and accepted part of life. And trade had continued and their communities still flourish.

Unfortunately for the settlers, a strangeness has occurred between the regions. The Siberian forests at the epicenter were common hiking routes, but people have gone missing and shown up dead or injured in precarious conditions.

The Stasi, busy with other things and uninterested, have just closed off the epicenter and warned people not go through it. Of course, nothing’s exactly stopping you from doing so.
