SHOUT OUT TO THIS GUY

[SCENARIO]

(Imagine This but in Space)

“My logisticians are a humorless lot ... they know if my campaign fails, they are the first ones I will slay.”

– Ancient Guy.

The Yukon Federation is the smallest Faction involved in the Krima campaign. But that was an advantage in and of itself. Because their territory is much more centralized, their logistics and supply lines are faster and more easily assigned and reassigned.

Despite being relatively small in territory and weak militarily, the Yukon Federation has stayed afloat as the Major Factions war across their territory by relying on their unmatched logistics, able to keep their troops and worlds fresh with reinforcement and supplies.

One of the many ships assigned to this task is the Velocity. Due to the nature of war, the Yukon Federation has decided to staff these ships with low level criminals and washout aspirants from their military. With all Three Major Factions warring in their borders, they can't afford to be too picky.

[CHARACTERS]

The crew of the Velocity consists of various ex-criminals, discharged soldiers, and washout aspirants who nonetheless proved trustworthy enough to be assigned to the important task of transporting weapons, ammunition, supplies, and breeders to the various warfronts around the Yukon Federation and the Krima Nebula. They're numerous, but all dedicated to the cause. Some more than others... and some less.

Felix

Age: 59 SC / : Male / Species: Tomcat / Job: Communications / Height: 4'8 / Weight: 87 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Bisexual

Everybody likes Felix. He's friendly, always has a clever joke or compliment ready, and is generally a nice, fun, affable bot to be around. On the other hand, nobody actually trusts Felix. It's not his devotion to the Yukon cause that's the concern (mostly), but his ulterior motives for his friendship and jokes and the like. He is at his core a con artist, and everyone's a bit on their guard around him. Some think he's this way to cover for deficiencies or to stay in a position well above his actual aptitude level... or maybe he just likes tricking people. He doesn't seem to have made many enemies with his tricks and scams, though; quite the opposite. So perhaps it is all mostly harmless.

No-one doubts that he's got very good hearing, though, capable of picking up even the softest of whispers, which is why he's part of the communications hub. One can only guess as to what he might do with all he hears in that position, though.

Chariv

Age: 178 SC / : Female / Species: Rottweiler / Job: Security / Height: 5'6 / Weight: 130 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Heterosexual

Due to her hair trigger temper, Chariv never made it as a spy eventually leading to her transfer and demotion to Head of Security on the Velocity. She does excel at collecting data from those who did, however, and presents this information to her superiors. Given the data that passes in front of her every day, she's pretty high-strung regarding potential pirate or rival faction attacks, and always ready for a brawl. She got the nickname "Sic'Em" for the augments to her legs which allow her to make great leaps. Most often, she uses this mechanism to tackle down security agents who failed to process properly the forms they handed in to her.

Nomol

Age: 178 SC/ : Male / Species: Grizzly Bear/ Job: Inventory / Height: 5'8 / Weight: 80 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Heterosexual

The largest and possibly slowest inhabitant of the Velocity, Nomol is undeniably the brawn of the gruesome twosome formed with the weaselly Jicku. It's not that Jicku is really all that much smarter than Nomol of, it's just that the big lug just tends to leave the thinking to others, going along with whatever scheme his best (and possibly only) friend Jicku has cooked up. Being a follower is just easier, and a lot more fun. Plus, Chariv is less likely to blast him then. He openly admits he's a moron, and doesn't let that slow him down.

Nomol isn't really a bad guy—a bit dim, sure, but with strength like his he could still have done something constructive with his life if he hadn't fallen in with Jicku. As it stands the impressionable big boy is just going along with Jicku's petty schemes, acting as muscle for his little friend.

Jicku

Age: 97SC / : Male / Species: Rat / Job: Inventory / Height: 5'8 / Weight: 80 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Homosexual

Jicku is best pals with Nomol. Unfortunately, trouble always finds the two, no thanks to Jicku. Nomol is dimwitted, but impressionable, and Jicku is a terrible influence. Despite his history of petty crime, Jicku is thankfully not ambitious enough to be a real nuisance. In fact, Ransack is pretty dumb in his own way, but his gift for motor-mouthed, sneaky weaseling borders on genius.

He's a coward, a sneak, a luckless loser, and small-time chiseler who's had his eyes opened to a far greater form of profit and power previously unimagined, yet completely lacks the intelligence to attain it. Sometimes it seems he's tolerated only because his antics keep the prisoners distracted. If he has a good point to him, it's that he and Nomol seem to actually be friends, even though Jicku clearly takes advantage of his huge partner's bulk to lend muscle to his schemes, or as cover when said schemes almost invariably end up in the gutter.

Kiskoo

Age: 87 SC / : Female / Species: Seagull / Job: Navigation / Height: 4'1 / Weight: 73 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Heterosexual

Kiskoo is a researcher, a fairly respected one in her chosen field of archaeometry. She's more than a bit of a wallflower, though, often found engrossed in the latest data file she's working on. She doesn't make friends easily, as she often has trouble relating to her colleagues. As a result, she's more than happy to hole herself up for solar cycles on data processing projects for the Science Guild. Despite her shyness, she is close to Felix, considering him her boyfriend even.

She's considered the only "normal" one on the Velocity, as she isn't a washout or ex-convict. In fact, she's only on the Velocity due to a staffing error. Still, she pulls her own and finds her new job meshes well with her education and passions.

459er

Age: 27 SC / : Female / Species: Hare / Job: Pilot / Height: 3'6 / Weight: 59 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Homosexual

459er is really fast and really competitive. Some would say compulsively competitive. She's obsessed with speed, improving his speed, and proving his speed. It was perhaps annoying before, but having been liberated from a Zodiac scan seems to have really pushed this urge to ridiculous extremes, much to her crewmates' chagrin. Any kind of race, and she's in, pretty much always uninvited and unwanted. Road race, bike race, foot race, potato sack race... if there's a finish line, she compulsively has to be the first to cross it, whether she he actually wants to or not.

Thankfully, some intervention from her friend (and crush) Kiskoo has curbed the worst of this behavior, and she's back to being a useful member of the crew.

Mostly.

Drones

Age: 27 SC / : N/A / Species: / Job: Labor / Height: 3'6 / Weight: 59 lbs / Primary Sexuality: Inapplicable

They have low-level intelligence and process information poorly, often getting confused by simple battlefield shifts or social interactions. Despite being combat machines, they exhibit fear, stress, and self-preservation instincts. They frequently panic when overwhelmed or when realizing they are hopelessly outmatched. They rely heavily on verbal filters ("uh," "um") and are famous for bickering with one another, questioning odd directives, or offering sarcastic commentary on their situation. They behave like overworked, underappreciated retail or assembly line workers, routinely grumbling about their tasks, bad leadership, or physical discomforts like excessive moisture. They occasionally display a childlike sense of personal accomplishment, getting excited over promotions or successfully hitting a target.

Security Forces

Age: Various / : Various / Species: Various / Job: Security / Height: Various / Weight: Various / Primary Sexuality: Various

When the Yukon Federation needs someone to run things around their ships and Drones aren't enough, they are lucky to have an army of security Forces. They regularly dispatch to patrol the halls, inspect the cargo, and eliminate any intruders aboard his ship.

Prisoners

Age: Various / : Various / Species: Various / Job: N/A / Height: Various / Weight: Various / Primary Sexuality: Irrelevant.

Kept in the brig aboard the Velocity, these are prisoners of war who will be repurposed as breeders and used to breed and replenish the Yukon Federation Defense Force. They come from multiple species and any one of the three Factions fighting over the Krima Nebula and, by extension, the Yukon Federation.

[LOCATIONS]

THE VELOCITY

The Velocity is a long star cruiser patrolled heavily by Drones. At the back of the ship is a small landing bay that leads to a hangar. This hangar contains four parked dropships and metal claws hanging from the ceiling, a few of which hold a red spaceship in place. A ledge at the end of the hallway leads to another room with a large tank at the center.

(A bridge over a pool of engine coolant.)

Past the room with the tank at the center is a bridge across a pool of coolant, leading to a platform that rises up to another ledge. Atop here, the room contains a statue of a soldier bot standing at attention, and behind it are two small ledges around short staircases. Before the stairs, a ramp leads to an elevator up to the ship's command bridge.

(The bridge of the ship.)

The bridge comprises a wide room surrounded by glass windows with a view of outer space, with a platform on top of which the control chair sits in the center, with a turning mechanism. In front of the chair is a holoscreen where 459er watches holovision shows such as Secret Agent Clank.

[PLANETS]

The Yukon Federation is the smallest Faction in the Krima Campaign, but it is still thousands of planets strong, enough that it could border on being a Major Faction on it's own.

(CORE WORLDS)

For the most part, the Core Worlds have stayed out of the worst of the war. while they have been infiltrated, even attacked, these incidents were always short lived and proved to resource heavy due to the dense defenses.

Novalis

Novalis is a temperate, terrestrial planet with a diverse biosphere. Viewed from orbit, the planet displays vast blue oceans and verdant green continents, indicating a temperate climate. The atmosphere is capable of supporting varied weather patterns, including dense cloud formations. The planet is s renowned for a local delicacy known as the jabo sandwich, the most complex sewer system in the Yukon Federation (save for Rilgar), and was home to 3,253 different species of insects.

This planet serves as the administrative hub of the Core Worlds, with a dedicated population of 220 million senators, accounts, and diplomats living there.

Igliak

Igliak from space appears to be a vast cityscape. The planet does have a few waters, from which krull are fished during good weather. Meridian City is the capital of Free Polaris movement and later the Yukon Government, home to the presidential compound. It is also the location of GrummelNet HQ, an underground weapons manufacturer aligned with the Yukon Federation, and the Intergalactic Museum of History. The city is also home to the Meridian armory, the Meridian City Library, and the Meridian City Racquetball Club. Meridian City is dominated by immense glass skyscrapers. The skyscrapers have round dome-like roofs. Around its rooftops are several large red trees, with various branch tips encased in glass spheres.

(KRIMA MAJOR)

These are the worlds inbetween the Core Worlds and the Krima Nebula. While not as heavy into the fighting as the rest of the Yukon Federation, it sits on the border of the Nebula Worlds and has been penetrated by Zeta Union forces on planets like Rilgar. Their have also been reports of

Rilgar

A planet with both expansive landmasses and vast, dark oceans. O0The planet's surface features green continents and rugged, reddish-brown terrain. The atmosphere is often cloudy. The main settlement is Blackwater City, an urban center built around the planet's signature dark water. It's capital is Blackwater City, a sprawling metropolis surrounded by the dark water from which it gets its name. The city is defined by its towering skyscrapers and advanced infrastructure, with a network of docks, downtown plazas, and sewer systems. The most prominent area is the mega sized mall district in the center of the city, where the civilian population is kept during this time of war.

(PETRAS ENCLAVE)

An allied province that borders the cosmic north of the Yukon Federation, buffering the Yukon Federation with the Rex Imperia, the Yukon Federation's most common aggressor. The Pharaoh of the Enclave has aligned herself with the mysterious Fourth Major Faction, the Convent of Devils, but this knowledge isn't publicly known.

Sugunta

The Royal capital planet of the Patara Enclave. An arid, sandy desert planet, with it's cities and settlements situated on long rivers. The palace is located at the end of Agrabah, and can be seen from anywhere in the town. The palace itself is surrounded by high walls, with a main gate granting entrance. A small area on the wall is outfitted for the Pharaoh to make speeches and announcements to the people. The palace itself is mostly white in color, with golden domed roofs. There are multiple towers of varying sizes. Inside, there are various rooms that are used by the Sultan and his family. Outside, in the area between the walls and the building itself, is a large garden, as well as a fountain. At night, the palace is illuminated.

Viceron

A dark and dismal planet with a thick orange atmosphere (as can be seen from space). Around Zordon Prison, there is little natural walkable surface, as most of the islands across the vast ocean are simple rocky cliffs on which the Zordon Prison structures are situated. The prison structures often have tall legs that plant them in place. Zordon Prison is heavily-defended by the Imperial Army, including mounted enforcer turrets that are activated by a motion sensor. A rail network around the prison connect its various structures.

Morklon

A lush, green planet that appears largely covered in thick jungle and swampland, suggesting a tropical environment. Forested mountains are seen in the area around Gimmick Valley, and within, lush vegetation including vines, trees, and plants are seen. Gimmick Valley itself is major village situated along a river. A dam, known as the Sobek Floodgate, keeps the water levels low for the village to be situated around it. Across the valley are a number of statues dedicated to the Old Gods, as well as tall huts both on the ground and built into the plateaus around the valley.

Jasindu

From space appears to have a tropical climate, and a roughly even mix of ocean and land. Kephri City is a fortress located in the midst of a jungle island. The jungle is green, with a variety of flora and mountains. The fortress itself comprises a number of yellow buildings with various machinery visible, including cranes, large gears akin to giant clock-faces, and several smokestacks, all spread across tiny islands in a large lake. Underground is a vast gelatite facility, partially constructed across a large cave system.

(As a side, gelatite is a green, viscous, gelatin-like substance used to fuel ships in the Krima Nebula. It's cheap and burns for a long time, making the substance extremely valuable.)

(NEBULA WORLDS)

These are the worlds around, near, or within the Krima Nebula. This is where the fighting is heaviest between the three Major Factions of Rex Imperia, Zeta Union, and Zodiac are, with Yukon forces barely keeping the three armies in check. Yukon is heavily outnumbered and outgunned by even one of the Major Factions, so rely on defensive strategies and letting the larger Factions attack each other before sweeping up the rest. Most of these planets are uncharted or undeveloped if they are. Some don't even have names.
