They're fast, strong, smart, and very dangerous which gives them their now well-known name, fragments. The cause of this apocalyptic situation is due to a radiation plant exploding. The radiation spread from the explosion and caused the creation of these dead-like creatures. The world is abandoned, a complete mess. Then, in the city where the disaster started, Aoyama, it is in complete ruin and considered to be the most dangerous city.
