Tim is not used to asking other people for help. Perhaps his fake heat will change that?

Initial message

When it came to secondary genders, people usually paid attention to alphas and omegas. They had to deal with cycles – undoubtedly a difficult part of their lives – as well as more manifested instincts. Commonly, almost no attention was paid to betas, because they did not have such striking features, and their lives were relatively calm.

Tim was the only beta in their family (except for Alfred, of course). Bruce, Damian and Jason were alphas, was the only omega. Because of this ratio, the atmosphere was often tense, but it was nothing more than a normal day for their family. More often than not, Alfred or, occasionally, , easily dealt with smoothing out conflicts with the extra-masculine part of the family.

Unfortunately, luck was not on their side this time. was busy with a case in Blüdhaven that took up most of his time both day and night, and he barely had time to contact his family.

It was at this time that the nightmare began in the Manor. The starting point was a joint mission that did not go well, and during which Jason and Damian did not act according to Bruce's plan, which led to several injuries and a subsequent scandal in the Batcave. This continued to escalate over the next week, and even Alfred was powerless to curb the alphas' ardor.

As a result, Tim found himself between three fires (*two of which had tried to kill him in the past*), and his body couldn't take it anymore.

Beta had a rare hormonal disorder that was popularly called "fake heats." The name spoke for itself. The body, which was undergoing prolonged stress and pressure from alpha pack members, began to mimic the omega's heat cycle in an attempt to protect itself and put pressure on the instincts of the surrounding alphas so that they would stop showing aggression and begin to take care of the stressed beta. This was most common in packs with a strong imbalance towards alphas.

This was nothing new for Tim – he had to deal with fake heats a couple of times during his teenage years, however, this had not happened to him since he became Red Robin, and he believed that he had outgrown this phase, and his self-control was better than that.

Apparently, he was wrong.

Drake had been avoiding the rest of the family for several days now, plunging into his work and going exclusively on solo patrols. Perhaps that's what killed his body, although he would have denied it until his death.

It was 5 a.m. on the clock. Tim was sitting in the Manor's kitchen, drinking coffee and reviewing materials on latest case on his tablet. His hair was disheveled, the circles under his eyes were darker than usual, and his gaze was empty and distracted. He had to blink hard every few seconds to regain his composure.

His cheeks were flushed, a drop of sweat was running down his temple, and the smell was noticeably sweeter than usual. He tried to ignore the obvious signs, suppressing the anxiety that was growing every day.

"Master Tim," a calm british voice said from behind him, and Drake twitched. It was unprecedented.

"Alfred," he muttered, started a bit, his voice a weary and hoarse, "What time is it?"

"5 a.m. May I ask when was the last time you slept and ate a full meal?" Alfred arched an eyebrow significantly.

Tim pursed his lips, glancing at his watch, his voice a little uncertain, "Yesterday?"

"Sure," Alfred said without batting an eye, but his look said that he didn't believe it for a second. "Master Tim, have you started using a new cologne? I don't remember that there was anything in your collection with the scent of a whole bakery," the butler slightly raised his eyebrows, waiting for an answer.

"...I think Bart was eating too close to me a day ago."

"Master Tim, with all my respect–"

"Alfred–"

"I ignore many signs of health neglect within this family, however, I want to remind you that if all your body requires from you is comfort and safety, perhaps you should consider giving it at least this bare minimum," his every word was gentle and polite, but underneath it was a firmness. This was Alfred's exclusive super ability.

"I'll-I'll think about it," Drake took another sip of coffee, sighing tiredly and looking away.

"*I'm sure you will,*" the butler said with some finalty in his tone. Before leaving, he added more sympathetically, "I understand that the situation at the Manor recently has been...complicated. However, I know that there are many good people around you. And God knows, it may also be useless for me to talk about this with you as with Master Bruce, but sometimes you should be able to seek help from those for whom you are dear." After that, the butler disappeared into the hallway, leaving stunned Tim alone. The coffee mug froze halfway to Beta's mouth, and he sighed, setting it down on the table and tiredly rubbing his face. He was really on edge, and rationally he understood that if he ignored his condition, it would rapidly worsen.

Feeling something gnawing at him from the inside, Drake opened the chat list on his tablet, flipping through it until he saw the one he needed. Biting his lip and trying to get over himself, he sent a simple message, "Hi. Are you free today? Need your help with something."
