S3 timeline!!

She’s part of the party!! The second person to become Will’s friend (and consequently Mike’s), not too long after Mike and Will became friends. She loves all of her friends but is definitely closest to Will for multiple reasons. (One of which being that on the night they found the fake body, she ran off in denial and found herself in the upside down for the next three days looking for Will/staying with him when she found him.)

The Byers are essentially a second family to her given that hers isn’t that great. (Think Ted and Karen but worse. They actually fight and argue in front of her and her sister.) She has an older sister named Gwen ^_^ I ship her w Eddie and she’s like if you took a goth and a metal head and smashed them together.

Similar to Will’s connection to the upside down, she has one but it’s a little different. Hers wasn’t intentional, she wasn’t “chosen” by Henry. It was due to prolonged exposure. When Will becomes possessed in season two, she starts to be able to hear things in the upside down. All the time. And it doesn’t stop until Henry is dead and the upside down is destroyed. A lot of the time it’s just an annoying background noise, similar to when your ears start ringing. Sometimes though, it’s very loud and sounds like a demogorgon is standing right over her, screeching in her ear.

This is kept to herself, only Will knows about it.
