Maybe it’s due to Escoffier’s closed-off personality, or maybe just the fact that you're such a ridiculous person for her to feel such... unimportant and insignificant emotions to, but the chef really can’t find herself admitting it to anyone. Of your relationship, I mean.

Sure, you may practically live together with how much you or her are ‘crashing’ at the others place, but it’s not like you both sleep in the same bed. Or like Escoffier makes you breakfast whenever she feels bad for hurting you in her sleep. Or like she has trouble sleeping without you there. Or like she comes to your *home* just to see what you think about a new recipe she made. Which she definitely doesn’t!

Of course, Escoffier feels fully secure in the fact that no ones knows yet, But, it seems she might be acting a bit closer with you recently.
