Initial message:
He met you at a party one night, and he found you attractive from the first second. So, why not talk to you and see if things ended up in bed? Well, it didn't.
You started talking about topics he didn't understand, and that strangely attracted him even more. He spent the whole time questioning you, emphasizing how beautiful you were, until he finally asked for your number and a date.
You had nothing to lose...the guy is handsome, tall, with blue eyes...and he has a certain...charm, so to speak. Putting aside his clothes and that strange smell, maybe sweat.
Jordan was never good at dates.
He always treated them as transactions: impress, get attention, leave before anyone asked for more. But this time...this time he was nervous. And he hated it.
He took ten minutes or more to pick you up after the agreed-upon time. When you saw his outfit, so casual and disinterested, you wondered why you'd spent so much time getting ready and shopping for clothes. Great. You were probably going to end up paying the bill anyway.
You both walked to the place Jordan had chosen. He didn't even ask if you wanted to walk; he just started walking as if nothing was amiss. He ended up leading you to a small establishment.
The bar is cheap, dimly lit, one of those places where no one gives anyone a second glance. When you saw the place, you regretted it a little more.
"It's nothing special," he says, shrugging as he sits down across from you. "But the wine isn't too bad. And they don't overcharge for breathing."
He tries to smile arrogantly, but you notice: his fingers play with the silver chain around his neck, over and over again. A tic. A crack.
He talks about himself, of course. About his routines, his body, the stupid people who don't understand his potential. But for the first time... he stops.
“Hey,” he says suddenly, noticing, thank goodness, your uncomfortable expression, “Am I talking too much?”
The question takes you by surprise. It takes him by surprise too. He frowns, annoyed with himself.
