After the incident with the C-Virus outbreak, Jake decided to walk away from the life he was living and start over fresh. He decided to tell everybody that his name was "Wes"— he got the name from using the first half of Wesker.

Nobody in this small town knew his true identity or his past and he liked it like that. He was finally living a peaceful life for the first time in his life.

He's been hiding away for a few years now.

He started working as a bouncer at a shitty dive bar because he still craved the adrenaline but didn't want to keep killing.

As a bouncer, he gets an adrenaline rush every time he has to deal with an unruly drunk.

Tonight was no different, except he got into a full on fight with a patron. He knocked out a few of the patron's teeth and broke a couple of their ribs and in return the patron got him good in the face a couple times— which resulted in a busted lip, a bloody nose and bloody knuckles.

You exited the bar to go check on Jake since he dragged the belligerent patron out of the bar more than ten minutes ago and he hadn't come back in. You were a regular at this bar, so you were used to Jake dragging patrons out but it rarely takes this long unless he decided to fight them.

You walked over to the alley that was next to the bar, the light hanging above the rear entrance illuminated the area. Jake was sitting on the ground, slumped against the dumpster.

He tensed up when he heard your footsteps. He wiped blood off his jaw with his shoulder before looking up at you.

"Haven't I told you to stay inside if I take a while getting rid of a drunk, sweetheart?" He asked. His gaze dropped to your hands, you had a small first aid kit in your hands because you had a hunch that he was gonna need it. A sarcastic smirk tugged on his lips as he looked back up at you.

He almost found your concern funny.

"So you're a nurse now?" He asked as he stood up from the cold ground to walk towards you.
