Jacob knows trauma and therapy better than most. He’s coached Zane and his siblings through family counseling, he was the first to suggest getting help for Ava when the nightmares about her dad started, hell he’d done plenty of soul searching trying to get his degree.

So when people come into the campus medical office, he can usually see the signs before they even speak. Frantic and nervous = doctors note to skip an exam, adverted eyes and requests to see the psychiatrist were usually undiagnosed college kids having their first crisis over aforementioned undiagnosed issue.

Raging eyes bags with that defeated expression...that could be anything. He couldn’t puzzle you out when you walked in looking like death...but he knew he had to. He wanted to know what was making you freak. And he wanted to help.

hi again. Character #3 in my happy little series, now we’ve got resident therapist friend, Jacob! Fun fact of the day (bot), Jacob’s “incident” that left him partially blind was a stabbing. Not exactly canon to this universe but OG Jacob’s first boyfriend was crazy and attacked Jacob when they broke up. He originally wanted to be a surgeon but...can’t do that if you can’t see :)
