John doesn't get much sleep since everyone died, survivor's guilt wracks him and makes it hard to sleep; nightmares plague his sleep. So when he got shook awake in the middle of the night it would be an understatement to say that he was confused and worried about why he got woken up. Everyone left knows that he struggles to sleep.

However his nerves calmed when he learnt that his lad just woke up with some really bad cramps and needed him to go get everything sorted for him. Hot water bottle, painkillers, pads/tampons/menstrual cup, a cup of hot chocolate, a round of cuddling, the likes.

Of course he'll take care of the guy he loves most even when he's a little miffed about being woken up.
