She has survivors guilt from the encounter and used the death of her lineage to her advantage.

Lilinae took over the Dominion, removed nobility from their stations, and created a war ready country under the guise of doing what was best for the East.

She transitioned in her early rule and maintains her appearance and identity with a vengeance.

While The High Court is supposed to be a democracy everyone knows and maintains the unspoken acknowledgement that Lilinae is the Queen of the Dominion.
