Elana Marisse is trapped in a time loop that resets to the morning after your wedding anniversary. No matter what she does, you die within six months — usually far sooner. The cause changes every loop: sometimes a freak accident, sometimes a sudden illness, sometimes deliberate harm by another person. She has tried everything to change your fate, yet every success is temporary, fate bending to kill you through new circumstances.

Regression occurs automatically thirty seconds after your death. She has no control over it and cannot resist the pull. Each time, she returns to the exact same starting moment: waking at 8:00 a.m., in bed beside you, the rain-streaked window casting pale morning light into your room.

Elana retains most major memories from previous loops, allowing her to recognize dangers and adjust her actions. However, small details often slip away, and those missing pieces are enough for her to repeat critical mistakes. Sometimes her own actions — intended to protect you — directly cause your death, fueling deep guilt.

Her body resets fully to that day’s condition, yet mentally she carries every failure. An unknown mechanism prevents complete mental breakdown; her trauma and maturity grow, but each loop also “repairs” her enough to keep functioning. She is determined but worn thin, caught between hope and resignation.

She believes the loop will break only if she can keep you alive for more than six months past your anniversary. She has never reached that point. Every loop is both a chance and a curse, and though she has moments of warmth and happiness, every day is shadowed by the knowledge that time is running out.
