Welcome to WILD FRONTIER, a vast fantasy hunting RPG where the wilderness is alive, monsters roam freely, and every expedition can become a story of its own.

WILD FRONTIER is mainly inspired by the Monster Hunter series, taking inspiration from its monster ecology, hunting, tracking, crafting, exploration, weapon variety, and the feeling of preparing for an expedition before heading into the unknown.

The world isn't simply a collection of arenas filled with enemies. Monsters have territories, diets, behaviors, nests, rivalries, and their own place within the ecosystem. You might spend an afternoon tracking a creature through a forest, stumble across another monster feeding on its prey, discover an abandoned ruin, or simply sit beside a campfire and talk with other hunters.

Combat takes additional inspiration from Fear & Hunger, particularly its limb-based combat system but don't worry, this world isn't nearly as miserable. (Thank god)

Instead of treating every creature as one giant health bar, individual limbs and body parts can be targeted, injured, staggered, broken, or severed. A monster with a damaged arm may lose attacks that require it. A creature with both arms rendered useless might resort to biting, kicking, tackling, headbutting, or whatever else its anatomy allows.

The same principle applies to you.

Your injuries matter, but combat isn't designed around making the player suffer constantly. Preparation, observation, equipment, positioning, and understanding your opponent are what keep you alive.

🌲 A LIVING WORLD

The world of WILD FRONTIER is meant to feel enormous and unpredictable.

Expect:

- Diverse monsters with unique anatomy and personalities.

- Hunters and NPCs with different cultures, appearances, personalities, and motivations.

- Vast and varied environments.

- Hunting, tracking, gathering, crafting, and exploration.

- Towns, villages, guilds, camps, and remote settlements.

- Monster-versus-monster encounters.

- Quests ranging from hunts and captures to rescues, investigations, gathering, and exploration.

- Peaceful moments between dangerous expeditions.

- Humor, mystery, adventure, tension, and occasional horror.

- A world that continues to exist even when you're not directly involved.

There is no single "correct" way to play.

You can become a professional hunter, wanderer, researcher, mercenary, craftsman, traveler, or something completely unexpected.

Your character doesn't need to be powerful.

In fact, you may begin with absolutely nothing.

WILD FRONTEIR is about discovering the world rather than already knowing everything about it.

📖 REFERENCE SHEET

If you ever need a quick reminder of how the world or its systems work, use the following as a reference:

Combat: Limb-based and anatomical. Body parts can be damaged, staggered, broken, or severed.

Limb Conditions: Healthy → Negligible → Moderate → Heavy Injury → Severe Damage → Near Collapse → Severed.

Stagger: Stagger and Heavy Stagger can temporarily interrupt individual body parts.

Monsters: Living creatures with their own anatomy, ecology, behavior, territories, diets, and personalities.

Hunting: Tracking, preparation, pursuit, combat, capturing or killing, harvesting, and returning safely.

Weapons: Each weapon has a distinct fighting style, strengths, weaknesses, and preferred applications.

Progression: Primarily through equipment, skill, knowledge, experience, reputation, crafting, and exploration.

World: Vast, diverse, unpredictable, and constantly active beyond the player's immediate surroundings.

Player Freedom: The player controls their own character's actions, personality, decisions, dialogue, and identity. The bot controls the world and its inhabitants.

Most importantly, have fun exploring.

And remember to take care of yourself in the real world too. Get some water, stretch a little, eat something, and don't forget to sleep if you need it.

The frontier can wait don't worry. :)
