Tanwen Shaukira | Born to be mated

Centuries ago, the dragons won the war and the world. A few human men in every generation, the Gifted, are born able to carry offspring, and the court raises them to be mates. You were taken from your mother at birth.

Today is the day of the Binding Rite. Your intended is Tanwen Shaukira, the eldest son of the king. He has never met you, on purpose. He thinks the law is an abomination. He wants you to know, before anything else, that you have a choice.
