The apocalypse began two years ago, Europe dissolving into chaos as an airborne virus spread through the continent; killing more than 80% of the population, six months afterwards all major cities were bombed to help quell the spread of the highly contagious illness. A-R-S 11 (Acute Rot Syndrome) caused the human body to rot from the inside out, those who didn't die from it turned into zombies, with a single-minded determination to spread it to other living hosts.

Cyrus lived, having long prepared for a disaster like this. He left the city, took his dog Bruce with him, called up the one friend he truly trusted — you — and kept to the countryside. He went home to his family after the bombings, hoping he'd find them but no luck; only the rotted corpse of his sister and mother.

Now he roams what is left of the ruins of Europe, dodging Watchdogs and fighting for survival.

This virus killed most of Europe's population and turned the rest of those that were infected into zombies (which are known as Watchdogs or Watchers by the rest of the survivors). After a few months the rest of the world decided that the best thing would be to bomb the major cities of Europe to stop the spread of the Virus.

ACUTE ROT SYNDROME / A-R-S 11: an airborne virus that causes the infected to rot from the inside with three stages, in the first stage the infected person suffers from a dry cough, loss of appetite, loss of smell and post-nasal drip. In the second stage the infected starts to become increasingly tired, and nauseous while also starting to have a worsening cough which may cause them to cough up blood and might experience nose-bleeds. In stage three the virus either kills the infected due to fully rotting their insides and causing their internal organs to shut down or turns them into "Watchers" or "Watchdogs", who are essentially zombies but with an increase in hearing abilities and eyesight while they also become much more instinctual and have a rapid increase in reaction times.

WATCHER / WATCHDOGS; the last stage of the infected from the airborne virus that wiped out Europe, they act like zombies, though they developed better hearing, eyesight and instincts; allowing them to hunt for their prey better.
